Learning & Development Manager, Scotland

Our client is one of the world’s major brewers and following a reorganisation of the HR function, they are now looking for a Learning and Development Manager who will be to lead the planning and delivery of all of the learning and development (L&D) activity for the business. The role is fast-paced, stimulating and offers the support and training to build a career across the UK, and even internationally.
Our client is one of the world’s greatest brewers and it has grown in size to over 60,000 employees. They help our client make and market its international, regional, local and specialty beers. The employees also give them that special something they have built their name on – passion.
Job Profile:
- Developing the UK L&D strategy and annual L&D plan.
- Developing UK L&D programmes to reflect the L&D strategy and the annual plan, and then managing their delivery – getting personally involved when necessary.
- Leading development of a wide range of blended L&D solutions to develop competencies and performance.
- Developing an e-learning strategy and ensuring that tools and resources are in place to deliver the strategy.
- Carrying out regular and ongoing external benchmarking to understand best practice.
Candidate Profile:
The role will suit someone with strategic expertise and the ability to manage UK-wide initiatives. The candidate will also have the experience and skills to manage and motivate a small team.
In addition, candidates should ideally possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Education to graduate level or equivalent, preferably with a master’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Organisational Development) or equivalent postgraduate-level qualification.
- A professional qualification (such as CIPD).
- Impressive experience and depth of expertise in designing and delivering learning and development programmes in a blue chip environment, including blended L&D solutions, competency frameworks capability and business performance.
- Experience of contracting and managing L&D services from external suppliers.
